About the Role

We are looking for a Waste Packaging Compliance Administrator to join our growing team.  This role is to manage and ensure Smyths packaging meets country-specific waste and recycling regulations.  We need to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely waste packaging data that enables Smyths to meet global sustainability standards and maintain product readiness across all regions.

This role is based in our Head Office in Galway and our Warehouse in Dundalk and requires travel between the two sites.

Salary: €40,000

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Responsibilities

  • Manage packaging compliance submissions for all markets, ensuring deadlines and data standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate packaging databases with up-to-date material and recyclability data.
  • Coordinate and approve recycling and compliance logos on packaging artwork.
  • Collect and verify packaging data from suppliers and internal teams.
  • Track and report on compliance status across customer and market requirements.
  • Monitor global waste packaging regulations and communicate key updates.
  • Support continuous improvement in packaging sustainability and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Commercial teams to ensure packaging compliance is integrated early in the product life cycle.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Relevant third level qualification (Minimum 2.2 degree)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and data tracking tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage large datasets accurately.
  • Genuine interest in sustainability and environmental compliance
  • Experience with packaging compliance schemes.
  • Prior experience in compliance, sustainability, or supply chain.
  • Understanding of packaging materials and recyclability.
  • Ability to multitask and work well to meet deadlines
  • SAP experience is an advantage.
